GROTTOES, Va. (WHSV) – Firefighters responded to the 370 block of Paine Run Road in Grottoes on Thursday for a structure fire.
Augusta County Fire-Rescue Division Chief Colten Lotts said that when crews arrived, they found both a home and nearby woods on fire. The firefighters searched the home and confirmed nobody was inside; the homeowner was already safe outside. No civilians were injured, but a firefighter sustained a minor injury that was treated at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Crews remain at the scene of the fire to conduct overhaul and extinguish remaining hot spots in the house and the surrounding brush…
