New ordinance would cap private lot rates if downtown operators join CARTA’s boot plan

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — We’re taking questions to CARTA about their efforts to equalize parking rates in downtown Chattanooga.

CARTA is also working to fix another problem: a backlog of unpaid parking tickets.

CARTA says they found years of unresolved parking violations when new leadership took over in 2024.

Now, CARTA’s parking authority division says it has a plan to deal with those violations and bring new opportunity to private parking lot operators…
