Hamilton County seeks input on plan to preserve historic neighborhoods in Chattanooga

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — A conversation about Chattanooga’s history brought leaders and residents together Wednesday as Hamilton County works to create a new preservation plan and identify sites and neighborhoods that could receive additional protections.

The town hall focused on how Chattanooga can continue to grow while preserving the places and stories that helped shape the city.

From historic buildings to longtime neighborhoods, community members shared what they believe should be protected for future generations.
