World’s longest yard sale returns to Alabama route

Bargain hunters and treasure seekers are expected to descend on northeastern Alabama in August as part of what organizers describe as the world’s longest yard sale.

The annual event, widely known as the 127 Yard Sale, is scheduled for Aug. 6-9 and spans about 690 miles across multiple states. In Alabama, the route begins in Gadsden and follows Lookout Mountain Parkway through Fort Payne before continuing into Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The yard sale features a wide range of items, including antiques, collectibles, furniture, dishware and locally produced goods such as fresh produce, jams and jellies. Food vendors and live entertainment are also planned along portions of the route…
