CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga City Council members voted to delay a $2 million agreement with Walden Security and SEI Incorporated, pushing back a decision on contracts tied to armed security at community centers.
Councilman Ron Elliott said he wants more due diligence before supporting the contracts, pointing to past situations involving weapons at city facilities.
“I have been in community centers where people have pulled out guns on folks. Thank God — we’ll use Avondale for example — there have been incidents where young people have pulled out weapons on that campus for whatever reason.
