Retired corporal rescues disabled senior from East Brainerd house fire Thursday

EAST BRAINERD, Tenn. — A retired corporal rescued a disabled senior adult from a house fire in East Brainerd Thursday afternoon.

According to the Chattanooga Fire Department, crews responded to a residential fire on Lindsay Avenue around 2:44 p.m.

Before firefighters arrived, Retired Corporal Matthew Landen says he was passing by on the way to work when he noticed smoke coming from the home.
