CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga labor officials and community members gathered Friday afternoon for a May Day rally.
Organizers focused on protecting labor rights, increasing funding for public education, and supporting immigrant communities.
Demonstrators also highlighted concerns about what they described as underfunded schools, immigration enforcement, and corporate accountability.
“With no labor, no teacher and no education, the community suffers,” said John Lennon, a protestor at the rally. “One process informs the other. Remember that when you’re informing your decision.”
