Slew of retailers and restaurants set to open in abandoned 106-year-old cotton mill under $5.4million revival project

A MAJOR federal grant has been awarded for a revival project focusing on an abandoned 106-year-old cotton mill.

Rather than revitalize the mill itself, the project instead aims to transform the area into a hub for retailers, restaurants, and more.

The City of Chickamauga, Georgia, about 2 hours northwest of Atlanta, has received a $1.45million federal grant for its Crystal Springs Print Works Factory revitalization project, per local NBC affiliate WRCB.

It hopes to receive an additional $4million in federal funding by June, with the $5.45million total allocated for removing contamination from the factory site…
