Disorderly conduct call leads to large fentanyl bust in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Portsmouth police arrested a 50-year-old man on multiple firearm and drug charges after responding to a disorderly conduct call in the city’s Southside neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers were called on Thursday to the 600 block of Jefferson Street, where they saw a suspect concealing a handgun in his pants, according to the Portsmouth Police Department.

Police detained the suspect, identified as Michael Lee McGuire Jr., and recovered the firearm. During the investigation, officers also seized 359 capsules containing fentanyl and other drug paraphernalia, police said…
