NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – A Norfolk vacation rental home that was shot into four times within a 10-day period has been removed from Airbnb’s platform, creating new financial and logistical troubles for the property owners.

The short-term rental, in the Ocean View neighborhood, was the victim of a string of recent vandalism incidents. While no one was injured in the shootings, the property damage has forced the homeowners to cancel bookings and pay out-of-pocket for repairs.
Following the incidents, Airbnb sent a letter to homeowners Maytee Anderson and her husband stating that the listing was being taken down because it “may involve elements that could result in physical harm to a guest.”
