HPD: Teen boy arrested in connection with fatal South Street shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a May 17 shooting on South Street that killed a 19-year-old man.

The teenage boy was charged with two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, first-degree murder, attempt robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a firearm by a juvenile and shooting in or across a roadway.

The victim, identified as 19-year-old Amaree Mckie, was discovered suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Previously, a 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting on June 10. He was additionally charged with two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, first-degree murder, attempt robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a firearm by a juvenile and shooting in or across a roadway.
