Passenger faces charges for assaulting state trooper after Norfolk crash

NORFOLK, Va. — Two people were injured after an interstate crash Saturday afternoon that also led to an assault on a state trooper, according to Virginia State Police.

The single-vehicle crash was reported about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at westbound Interstate 264 at Military Highway in Norfolk, according to a Virginia State Police spokesperson. A trooper arrived to find the woman who was driving the Toyota 4Runner unresponsive in the driver’s seat, with a man in the passenger seat.
