Community supports Chesapeake family who lost home and dog in fire

CHESAPEAKE, VA. (WAVY) – Community members and organizations came together at the Centerville AJ Gator’s location Saturday to help a Chesapeake family who lost everything in a house fire.

The fundraiser supported Sharon Outland and her family, who lost not only their home but their family dog, Gidget, in the fire.

Following the devastating loss, the staff at AJ Gators immediately jumped into action to help the family begin recovering.

“We’ve known them for a long time, I’ve watched her kids grow up, watched them play ball,” said server April Coleman, “my whole family, who’s here helping set up, has known them prior to A.J. Gators.”…
