PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The convenience of QR codes is now being preyed on by scammers. In a scheme known as ‘quishing,’ cybercriminals use phony codes to deceive individuals into visiting a malicious website.
According to Kaspersky, there are many ways QR codes are being duped both in the real world and in cyberspace.
