HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) — One person has died after being struck by lightning on a beach in Cape Charles as a severe thunderstorm moved through much of the region Thursday afternoon.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Norfolk, northern Chesapeake, Portsmouth, northeastern Suffolk and northwestern Virginia Beach.
