Man gets 3.5 years for threatening ODU student over stolen Chick-fil-A meal

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A man was sentenced to three-and-a-half years after stealing an Old Dominion University student’s breakfast at the on-campus Chick-fil-A before threatening the student with a gun.

On Nov. 15, 2025, the victim went to the Chick-fil-A at the corner of 41st Street and Monarch Way to pick up the breakfast he had ordered online when an employee informed him the man who held the door for him had just taken his order. The victim approached the man outside to ask if he had taken the order with his name on it, but he denied doing so.

Upon reaching for the bag, the man pulled it away and the two struggled over the bag until the suspect pulled out a firearm and threatened to kill the victim. As the victim backed away with his hands up, the suspect left on a Lime scooter with a woman who accompanied him…
