NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A roadside safety patrol employee was seriously injured in a crash in Newport News Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened at 3:31 p.m. on Interstate 64 westbound at exit 256A in Newport News, according to Virginia State Police.
When the crash happened, a Virginia State Police trooper was there with a disabled vehicle, and a Safety Service Patrol employee arrived to set up cones.
