VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach Fire Department responded to a jet ski rescue Wednesday evening, according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department.
On May 20 at around 5:09 p.m., crews were dispatched to a reported boat in distress. Jet Ski 101 and an Inflatable Rescue Boat responded to the scene.
After finding the jet ski and its two occupants, crews determined that low tide had led to the jet ski running aground on a sandbar, and it wasn’t able to get back underway. Jet Ski 101 helped pull the jet ski back into navigable water before escorting it to the Crab Creek dock.
