Police search for armed suspect in fatal Far South Side shooting

CHICAGO (WGN) — Cook County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for fatally shooting a man on Chicago’s Far South Side.

Police said Lisandro “Chano” Rios-Ortiz was one of three people shot in the 9900 block of South Ewing Avenue near the Illinois-Indiana state line around 5:40 p.m. on Monday, May 11.

Rios-Ortiz later died from his injuries.

According to police, the suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and white Nike shoes. The unknown individual fled the scene after the shooting.

Authorities warned that the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached…
