Deputy saved nurse’s life before being shot in Indiana ER: court documents

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. (WGN) — An Indiana nurse told investigators that LaPorte County Sheriff’s Deputy Jon Samuelson saved his life moments before the officer was shot in an emergency room on Friday.

The shooting happened just after 7 a.m. Friday morning at Franciscan Hospital in Michigan City, Indiana.

The suspect, Sharod Grafton, 22, is charged with attempted murder, battery by means of a deadly weapon and auto theft.
