Knife-wielding man charged

Nicholas G. Ricci, 22, of the 6200 block of West 64th Place, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal damage to property following an altercation at 10:35 a.m. June 17 at a Dunkin’ coffee shop in the 5700 block of West 63rd Street.

Police said Ricci displayed a knife and threatened to injure a 68-year-old man during the incident. Officers took Ricci into custody one block away, on 64th Street.

Domestic battery escalates to assault on police

Miguel E. Andino, 32, faces three felony counts of aggravated battery of a police officer for allegedly spitting on officers who responded to a disturbance at his home in the 6000 block of South Whipple Street at 8:08 p.m. June 16.

Police said Andino was heavily intoxicated when he answered the door and began spitting on the officers. He also faces two counts of domestic battery for spitting on a 70-year-old woman and punching a 36-year-old man during the altercation…
