Chicago South Side Violence Leaves 11 Shot, Two Dead Overnight

Chicago’s South and Southwest sides saw a grim run of violence from Tuesday evening into early Wednesday, with 11 people shot, two fatally, and another person seriously injured in a stabbing. The incidents unfolded across several neighborhoods, and police said they were separate cases rather than one connected attack.

According to FOX 32 Chicago, the first shooting was reported around 5 p.m. in Gage Park, where a 23-year-old man was shot in the leg. Additional shootings followed in Little Village, West Lawn, West Englewood, South Shore and West Pullman, while a stabbing was reported in South Chicago.

Two Fatal Shootings Were Reported Late At Night

The deadliest stretch came just before and after midnight. In South Shore, a 35-year-old man was shot in the back and chest and later died at the University of Chicago Medical Center, while a 42-year-old man found at the same scene suffered wounds to his back and left arm and remained in critical condition.

About 20 minutes later, police found a 43-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest in West Pullman. He was taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition and later died, according to police.

Teen Among Those Wounded Across Seven Neighborhoods

Three men were shot in Little Village after someone in a vehicle opened fire, leaving a 27-year-old and a 21-year-old with serious head wounds and a 22-year-old with a leg injury. A 15-year-old boy was also shot in the back in West Englewood and was reported in good condition at Comer Children’s Hospital…
