Tammy Zywicki murder investigation gets new lead 34 years later

(NewsNation) — On the 34th anniversary of Tammy Zywicki’s disappearance, Illinois State Police and the FBI say they have developed a new lead in the college student’s kidnapping and murder.

Zywicki was last seen in 1992 after leaving her home in Evanston, Illinois, and driving to Grinnell College in Iowa for the start of the fall semester. She never arrived. Her vehicle was later found abandoned along an interstate.

Investigators have long focused on a semi-truck seen near Zywicki’s car. The truck was reportedly driven by a tall, middle-aged man with dark, bushy hair who remains a suspect in the case…
