Chicago police are again warning Northwest Side businesses and residents about a man suspected of robbing store cashiers in a string of holdups dating back to July 31. It is the third community alert CPD has issued about the man since August 16, but the first to include images of the suspect. Despite the repeated warnings, police say he has continued to strike, with three more robberies reported in the past week.
According to police, the man enters stores and selects a canned drink from the shelves. He then takes the item to the register and hands the cashier money to pay for it. When the cashier opens the register, the man pulls out a large knife, reaches over the counter, and takes cash from the drawer, police said.
CPD released video of one of the incidents Monday. The knife can be seen in the footage and appears to have a large blade. Police have linked him to seven robberies at Northwest Side stores since July 31. Two locations have been targeted twice:…
