‘I Thought This Was My Last Time Seeing My Daughter;’: Woman Who Survived Multiple Gunshots Says Incident May Have Been Case of Mistaken Identity

A Chicago mother is recovering after she was shot nearly a dozen times outside her Bronzeville home while preparing to take her daughter to school, an attack she believes may have been a case of mistaken identity.

Erin Jenkins was outside her home near South Lake Park Avenue and 40th Place shortly before 8 a.m. Sept. 3 when a black sedan reportedly pulled up, according to ABC7 Eyewitness News. Security video captured a person getting out of the vehicle and opening fire in her direction.
