Man who ‘likes little boys and girls’ tried to abduct 13-year-old while on electronic monitoring: prosecutors

CHICAGO — Prosecutors have charged a man with trying to abduct a random 13-year-old boy from a Humboldt Park street last week, just one week after being put on electronic monitoring for allegedly selling drugs about a block away.

Officials said Devontay Kenny, 32, asked if he could walk the boy to school, saying something to the effect of “I like little boys and girls” after approaching him in the 3800 block of West Thomas on February 24.

The boy refused, but Kenny pinned him against the brick wall of a nearby house, officials said. After struggling with Kenny, the child broke free and ran to a nearby convenience store for help, according to a detention petition filed by prosecutors…
