Restaurants in Chicago took two different spots, with one ranked number one overall. See that California and New York? Illinois is taking the lead here.
The top honor went to La Scarola, an Italian spot where the portions are massive, the place is loud, and nobody walks out hungry. Think of La Scarola as your grandma’s kitchen. That is, if your grandma had a legendary restaurant in Chicago. I haven’t been to La Scarola, but as a fan of Italian cuisine and given that this was Fieri’s top spot, it sounds like I need to check it out. La Scarola is at 721 West Grand Avenue.
Also making the list was Kuma’s Corner. You know about Kuma’s right? It’s the place where the names of the things on the menu are almost as big as the burgers themselves. It’s another loud place that’s totally worth the trip. Having been there, the burgers are legendary, but bring earplugs. If you have sensitive ears, this might be a tough sell. Kuma’s is at 2900 West Belmont Avenue in Chicago, with a location closer to Rockford at 1570 East Golf Road in Schaumburg.
