Man arrested in California after threatening Clermont County judge

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – A man accused of threatening a judge at the Clermont County Common Pleas Courthouse is in custody in California after investigators say he admitted making the call.

At about 10:47 a.m. on June 25, an unidentified male contacted the Clermont County Common Pleas Courthouse at 270 E. Main St. in Batavia and made threats of harm against a judge. Court personnel notified deputies from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office who were assigned to the courthouse.

The sheriff’s office investigations division initiated an investigation, and detectives responded to the courthouse to identify the caller. Using investigative techniques and available resources, detectives identified the suspect as Ian Doty, 41, of Hamilton County…
