INDEPENDENCE, Ky. (WKRC) — While many people were celebrating the Fourth of July, a Northern Kentucky family was forced out of their home after it caught fire.
Mei Scott says her stepchildren were coming over to celebrate the holiday. She was inside her home with her daughter, talking and crocheting, when a neighbor was outside and noticed something wasn’t right.
“He jumped the fence and came and told us — he came knocking on the door and was like, ‘Hey, your deck is on fire,'” said Scott.
