Dog found shot, tied to fence reunited with owner; Investigation underway

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – A Hamilton County man has reunited with his 16-year-old dog after she was found tied to a fence with a gunshot wound and a shattered leg, and the Hamilton County Dog Warden is now investigating.

Brandon Gibbs said his dog, Reese, got loose Sunday afternoon. He drove around looking for her and made posts on Facebook before Cincinnati Animal Care found her.

Reunion after days of searching

“Why would someone shoot an elderly dog? Why would anyone shoot an animal, period? I don’t understand the world we live in,” Gibbs said.

Gibbs said animal care staff told him the pads of Reese’s feet were raw from being outside in the heat and that she was dehydrated and given IVs…
