East side businesses cleaning up after being hit by flash floods

HYDE PARK, Ohio (WKRC) — Friday night’s flooding on Cincinnati’s east side hit especially hard in neighborhoods like Hyde Park and Oakley, affecting several businesses as the workday wrapped up.

Rain started coming in around 3 p.m. and was followed by the flash flood warning a couple of hours later. The timing made all the difference: Across the area, property and equipment were in danger, as well as commuters leaving work and those still on the job.

“They had to pile into one of our box trucks and actually just evacuate as soon as possible because the parking lot at that point was almost completely covered,” said Mike Knudsen of Apollo Home…
