Cincinnati to lose more than an hour of daylight during August

CINCINNATI (WKRC) — August marks the beginning of the transition from summer toward fall, bringing noticeably shorter days, slightly cooler temperatures and, typically, drier weather to the Tri-State.

By the end of the month, Cincinnati will lose more than an hour of daylight compared to Aug. 1. Sunrise will occur about 27 minutes later, while sunset will happen 39 minutes earlier, continuing the gradual decrease in daylight that began after the summer solstice.

Temperatures also begin to ease, though summer heat is far from over. The average high temperature drops from 86 degrees at the start of August to 84 degrees by month’s end…
