EAST PRICE HILL, Ohio (WKRC) – A 14-year-old boy was shot in the head outside a home on Warsaw Avenue in East Price Hill following a dispute, and community leaders say the violence reflects deeper problems they believe the city has not addressed.
The teen was shot in the face and continues to recover at Children’s Hospital from the head wound. He has not been identified because his family fears for his safety. Cincinnati police have released few details and say the suspect remains at large.
Amber Kassem, president of the East Price Hill Improvement Association, said ongoing quality-of-life issues in the neighborhood have contributed to an environment where violence can take hold. Standing near the corner of Warsaw and Purcell—less than 10 blocks from where the teen was shot—Kassem pointed to what she described as persistent problems, including illegal dumping, trash, and graffiti.
