CINCINNATI (WXIX) -The Cincinnati Police Department will be handing out free DNA kits starting September 26 to help grow genealogy databases and solve cold cases.
CPD says it’s the first department in the tri-state to try this approach, joining a national push to grow DNA databases and solve crimes faster. The department says the approach has already worked here, and could help solve hundreds of open homicide cases.
