The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reminds motorists of the upcoming full, weekend closure of I-75 North and South for construction crews to install bridge beams over the interstate as part of the Linn Street Bridge Replacement and Reconstruction project.
In addition to the I-75 North and South closure, the ramp from eastbound U.S. 50 (W. Sixth Street Viaduct) to southbound I-75 will be closed during the evening hours Sunday, September 27. This closure, which will be in place for approximately four months, is being imparted for construction of a new alignment for U.S. 50 East to I-75 South as part of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project.
Friday-Monday, September 25-28:
Northbound I-75
- Closure of the entrance ramps from Fort Washington Way, 4th, and 6th streets beginning at 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 25.
- Single-lane closure beginning at approximately 9:00 p.m. across the Brent Spence Bridge and continuing north, followed by double and triple-lane closures prior to the full closure.
- Full closure of I-75 North at the U.S. 50 West exit (Exit 1D) exit ramp, beginning at 11:00 p.m.
- The closure will remain in place until 5:00 a.m. Monday, September 28.
Southbound I-75
- Closure of the entrance ramp from the Western Hills Viaduct to I-75 South beginning at 9:00 p.m. Friday, September 25.
- Single-lane closure beginning at approximately 9:00 p.m. Friday near S.R. 562/Norwood Lateral and continuing south, followed by double and triple-lane closures prior to the full closure.
- Full closure of I-75 South at the Freeman Avenue (Exit 1F) exit ramp beginning at 11:00 p.m.
- The closure will remain in place until 5:00 a.m. Monday, September 28.
Sunday, September 27:
- Closure of the ramp from eastbound U.S. 50 to I-75 South at or after 8:30 p.m.
- Motorists can follow the S.R. 264/W. Fifth Street/Downtown off ramp to Central Avenue and W. Ninth Street to enter I-75 South.
- The closure will be in effect until January 2027.
I-75 NORTH DETOUR
Northbound thru-traffic motorists are encouraged to follow the signed detour at the I-71/I-75 split, using I-71 North and westbound S.R. 562/Norwood Lateral to help mitigate congestion and avoid additional delays.
Access will be maintained to the W. 5th Street exit (Exit 1C) and the U.S. 50 West/River Road exit (Exit 1D), and motorists can follow the detours from W. Sixth or W. Fourth streets to Linn Street, W. Eighth Street and Freeman Avenue to re-enter I-75 North.
