Elderly Ohio woman allegedly kills man after shooting him in the groin; claims “harmless banter” that he asked her to shoot him

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio — A 77-year-old Ohio woman was behind bars after allegedly shooting a man after engaging in “harmless banter.”

Several news outlets local to the area and People have picked up the story, which occurred in a Cincinnati apartment on Sunday, Oct. 20.

Investigators and court documents show that Kathleen Geiger shot 58-year-old Arthur Osborne in the groin when he “jokingly” asked Geiger to shoot him.

According to news outlets, Geiger allegedly told investigators that she believed the firearm was not loaded when she shot him in the pelvic region.

It is reported that Geiger rendered medical aid to Osborne and called 911.
Hamilton County online court records show Geiger was charged with reckless homicide and that her bail was set at $10,000.

A public defender has been assigned to Geiger’s case, but records do not show if she has entered a plea.
