Parents share message on dangers of fentanyl after losing son

CINCINNATI — More Americans between the ages of 18 and 45 die from fentanyl overdoses than from any other cause.

While the numbers have been trending in the right direction since 2024 – thousands still die from it every year. On Fentanyl Awareness Day, two parents are trying to use their son’s death to make a difference.

Jack Quehl was just like any other 23-year-old, with an entire future in front of him until he and a friend made one wrong choice.

“They had gotten some cocaine that was laced with fentanyl, and they both died,” Tom Quehl, Jack’s dad, said…
