CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A fatal shooting at Fountain Square has renewed concerns about violence downtown, after 25-year-old Darius Wheeler was killed and 36-year-old Christopher Shipman was charged with Wheeler’s murder.
Cincinnati City Council Member Mark Jeffreys said the shooting was especially troubling because it happened in a high-traffic public gathering place.
“First, it’s horrible for the victim. Second is the fact that it happened at Fountain Square, which is a place where people gather, people work, visitors are visiting,” Jeffreys said.
