Severe threat in Cincinnati: Weekend storms may bring heavy rain, hail and gusty winds

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A stretch of warm, unsettled weather is lining up for the Cincinnati area, with an active weekend bringing rounds of showers and storms — including a low, isolated severe threat.

Rain and storm chances increase heading into the weekend and could affect outdoor plans. Showers and storms are expected to become likely Saturday morning and continue into Saturday afternoon. Some thunderstorms could produce heavier rain, hail and isolated strong wind gusts.

The area is under a level 1 risk for severe weather, meaning isolated severe storms are possible but not expected to be widespread. Have a “Plan B” for outdoor activities, though it is unlikely to rain all day in any one spot.

Warm temperatures are expected to build through the rest of the weekend and into early next week. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 70s Saturday and the upper 80s Sunday.
