Cincinnati woman turns 100, celebrated by 40-plus descendants and a lifetime of adventure

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – As Betty Volz turns 100, her family celebrates a milestone that spans generations — and a life defined by motion, faith and deep devotion to the people she loves.

Volz turns 100 on May 17, surrounded by a large family that includes eight children and more than 40 descendants. She is a grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, and relatives describe her as energetic, adventurous, and joyful.

Born as Betty Arnult in Louisville, Kentucky, she moved to Cincinnati when she was 11. After World War II, she married Albert Volz, “the love of her life,” and the couple remained married for 69 years. They bought a home in Anderson Township and raised eight children — five boys and three girls…
