2 sentenced for roles in Downtown Cincinnati violent brawl last summer

CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Two people who pleaded guilty to their roles in the melee downtown last summer were sentenced Tuesday.

Montianez Merriweather was sentenced to 10 months in jail on aggravated riot and aggravated assault charges. He has been in jail for nearly ten months awaiting a resolution in his case and may be released soon. He could be on community control after his release.

“What happened last July in Cincinnati was not just disorder, it was violence. And violence in a crowded public space has consequences,” said Judge Virginia Tallent. She did say his conduct was less serious than some of the others involved. She also said Merriweather accepted responsibility for his actions…
