A Clarksville, Tennessee, woman has been sentenced to two years in federal prison after admitting to embezzling more than $238,000 from a Christian County business.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky, 50-year-old Kathleen M. Michaelis was sentenced on five counts of wire fraud. Court records show Michaelis worked as a bookkeeper for the business between May 2017 and May 2024, where she carried out a fraudulent check scheme to steal more than $238,000 and use the money for personal expenses.
