HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) – The City of Hopkinsville is committing up to $50,000 to the Christian County Weather Spotters, with city leaders set to present a check Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 4 p.m. at the Weather Spotters Network building on Margaret Place.
The Hopkinsville City Council approved the funding to strengthen the group’s capacity to respond during severe weather events. The investment will begin with the purchase of a new generator to keep operations running during power outages.

The Christian County Weather Spotters is a volunteer organization that monitors storms, shares real-time information and issues warnings to residents in Hopkinsville and Christian County when dangerous weather approaches.
