Christian County Fiscal Court passed its first reading of the 2026-27 fiscal year taxing rates Tuesday morning, with a public hearing already planned before the next session Tuesday, August 25.
At the suggestion of Judge-Executive Jerry Gilliam and the budget committee, real estate is scheduled to remain the same at 16.7 cents per $100 of assessed value, while tangible property moves from 18.7 cents down to 18.1.
