Cheatham County deputy fires shots at vehicle as driver flee traffic stop, fearing vehicle would hit him

CHEATHAM CO., Tenn. (WSMV) – A Cheatham County deputy fired shots at a car during an attempted traffic stop on Highway 70 near the Davidson County line on Wednesday afternoon around 4:15 p.m., according to Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office Captain Chris Gilmore.

Gilmore said the driver drove away from a traffic stop, and a deputy fired shots at the fleeing vehicle, believing that the driver was going to drive toward him.
