140 new lots planned for Oak Grove subdivision, flood concerns split project

OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A subdivision development in Oak Grove called Echo Ridge has submitted plans for its fourth and largest section that would add in over 100 more lots off of Avondale Road. However, a portion of this expansion has been stalled due to potential flood issues.

The proposal for section four of the development was discussed during the Community and Development Services meeting on Sept. 3, which will significantly expand the current neighborhood with an additional 61.35 acres. The applicant for the project was seeking preliminary plat approval for the development of 143 new lots in this next section of Echo Ridge.

When plans were reviewed for this new next section over the past few months, it was determined that there are a few lots that are located in a basin that has been flagged as a flood hazard area. As of the Sept. 3 meeting, there have not been any stormwater management plans submitted.
