ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg police are currently investigating after a body was found in the water right near the Grandview Boat Ramp. Officers responded to the scene, which stretches across the 3700 to 3800 blocks of 6th Street South, to secure the area.
While things are still in the preliminary stages, investigators believe the body belongs to a 66-year-old man. He had just been reported missing around 9 p.m. on Monday night.
Right now, police are treating the situation as a possible suicide based on their early findings at the scene. Even so, the final determination won’t come from the police department. The Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner’s Office will take over to officially rule on the exact cause of death.
The St. Petersburg Police Department confirmed that their investigation into the incident is still active and ongoing…
