AdventHealth, one of the largest nonprofit Protestant healthcare systems in the U.S., is readying to embark on a $214 million expansion of its Carrollwood hospital to meet growing inpatient and surgical demands, the health system announced Thursday.
The Altamonte Springs-based health care system will soon begin construction on its Carrollwood facility, adding a six-story patient tower, a five-story parking garage, and expanding surgical and specialty services.
“We are seeing more incidence of cancer and other conditions that affect younger and younger populations so this will allow us to do more procedures, make it easier, make it more accessible,” says Joe Johnson, president and ceo of AdventHealth Carrollwood, in a video release. “We also want to make sure that the screening and the recovery process is enhanced so this will allow for us to incorporate more beds, more capacity and more procedural capacity as well.”…
