TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — As Tampa Bay prepares to celebrate the Fourth of July and America’s 250th anniversary, fire officials are urging people to use extra caution with fireworks because of unusually dry conditions across the region.
The warning comes after months of below-normal rainfall. According to the National Weather Service, Tampa has received about half of its normal rainfall since September, making it one of the driest stretches on record.
