A devastating multi-car collision on State Road 39 claimed the lives of two Florida drivers and left four other people injured on Saturday afternoon. According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the three-vehicle wreck was triggered by a passing maneuver that led to a violent head-on crash.
The incident occurred on June 27 at approximately 12:25 p.m., just south of East County Line Road in Hillsborough County.
State troopers reported that a Subaru SUV was traveling southbound on SR-39 when the driver pulled out into the opposing lane to pass an uninvolved vehicle.
